Well put Sir. I have always said that government is neither good or evil, it just is. I liken it to a hammer. You can use a hammer to build a house, forge metal, or break glass. It all depends on the application of the tool.

I think a point could be made here and it is this. Sure get rid of the subsidy on corn ethanol, but keep our eye on the fact we can use ALL forms of domestically produced energy to stop foreign oil dependence.

ZenJen, As long as there are intolerant and stupid people among us, we will have fighting and civil unrest. I don't believe we will ever see the end of unrest. It is unfortunate but it is part of the human condition.

Bleckk! I don't even like licking my own blood off a cut on my finger. The only reason I do it is so I don't "paint" everything within arms length until I get a boo-boo badge. I can't imagine going out of my way to lick someone’s blood.

"Our government has failed us," Rep. Kevin McCarthy of California. Unless I missed something here isn’t he part of the government? If this is in fact true, HE is part of the problem. Therefore, he should do his constituents and nation a service, resign.

How about Tim Burke? I know this would be "other" but hey, he was "clean" thru the prone stages of his best race and lots of other guys couldn't ski with him. He had some bad luck in the offhand stages but geez, the guy is almost single handed putting US Biathlon on the map.
